 Deputy Principal Academic incorporating the role of IB Coordinator

 

Auckland International College (AIC) - This independent Y10 – 13 IB World School is seeking a permanent full time Deputy Principal Academic incorporating the role of IB Coordinator, starting in July 2019.

AIC is a highly academic school, with a tradition of outstanding academic results and university placements. For example each year at least one student achieves the maximum 45 points in the Diploma, the College pass rate averages in the nineties and students receive nearly 300 hundred offers from TES Top 50 ranked universities each year.

The College operates an ESOL course in Y10, an IBDP preparation year course in Y11 and the IB Diploma in Y12 and 13. The responsibility of this post encompass all aspect of the academics associated with these courses and the person will work closely with the Principal, Deans and staff to ensure the continued academic success of the college.

The students in the College are a joy to work with as they are disciplined, motivated and respectful. You really can teach as the requirement for application of classroom management strategies is minimal. The staff are from a wide range of backgrounds and ethnicities with many having international teaching experience.

Significant IB Diploma teaching experience at all levels is essential and current or past departmental leadership experience is desirable for this position, preferably in a multicultural setting. Applicants must be registered with the NZ Teachers Council or be able to become registered in the time frame before July 2019.

Accommodation Coordinator

Auckland International College (AIC) is seeking an Accommodation Coordinator.

This new role will coordinate the administration and supervision of all aspects of student accommodation outside of the AIC Boarding House.

AIC is a highly academic school, with a tradition of outstanding academic results and attracts long-term Year 11- 13 students from throughout Asia and elsewhere.

Working closely with AIC’s homestay provider, Lake Panorama Student Homestays, you will liaise with students, their families, AIC Admissions staff, Deans, Boarding House manager, Principal and the Director of Accommodation

You will understand and comply with the Education (Pastoral Care of International Students) Code of Practice 2016, have excellent interpersonal skills and be used to dealing with many different cultures. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and a full NZ drivers licence is required.

This is a permanent part-time (20 hours per week) position.
